The purpose of the EMM is to help the child acquire the basics of French language at a crucial period of their development : - Provide a structured program based on the guidelines of the French Ministry of National Education:
* graphics workshops (pre-writing) and mathematics (numbers, figures), * practice of visual arts (drawing, painting, sculpture, collage), * development of motor skills, * music education (vocal and bodily activities, listening activities). - Establish a link between families and the school to motivate children in learning the French language.
- Prepare children for school, in bilingual primary school for some (for example Ecole Francaise de Melbourne), or a return to France for others.
For who ?
- The school is mainly aimed at french speaking children from French couples or bilingual English / French, living permanently or temporarily in Melbourne
- It is also aimed at Australian children regularly practicing the french language
In all cases, the EMM is a structure to help children improve the learning of the french language already undertaken by the parents. The sessions all take place in french as it is expected that the children already understand the language.
